The Ultimate Facebook Ad Cheat Codes

I was recently asked to speak inside of my mastermind group during a session referred to as “Member Cheat Codes”.

It’s essentially where 3 members inside the group come onto our weekly call to share their wisdom on a particular subject and even though I’m one of the newest members to the group, I was asked to come speak on ads.

This inspired me to create a brand new training called Million Dollar Ad Cheat Codes where I shared 5 powerful tips that have helped me to generate over 100,000+ leads and millions of dollars in revenue for my clients over the year.

I got LOTS of great feedback about it from the people within my mastermind group so I wanted to share a few of those cheat codes with you today.

Cheat Code #1: Social Proof Is King 👑

Organic engagement isn't the only way to win the algorithm. It works for ads too.

The more likes, comments, and shares that you receive on your ad, the better it will perform.

One reason for this is because psychologically people are more likely to engage with something if we see that other people are interested in it first. Meaning, if we see an ad that has lots of engagement on it, we instantly become more curious and interested in checking it out.

This behavior also signals to FB that your ad is creating a good experience on their platform, which tells their algorithm to reward you with more impressions at a lower cost.

How do you get social proof on your ad? Naturally, the longer you let your ad run and more it resonates with your audience, the more it will accrue social proof.

However, I like to take this a step further by taking a couple of additional steps to boost engagement.

First, I’ll sometimes comment on my own ad and ask if anyone has questions. This works especially well when you’re advertising one of your paid offers, but it can also work with free offers too.

By doing this one tactic, I’m able to encourage more of the people seeing my ad to comment with their buying questions so I can quickly answer them and let them know if they are a good fit to buy it or not. This doesn't just lead to more social proof, but more sales as well.

The second way I like to garner social proof is to encourage my existing customers to comment on my ad with their feedback. I usually do this through a follow-up email but you could also personally reach out to a few of your best customers and ask them personally to do this.

Not only is this is great way to gather testimonials on your ad that you can screenshot and put onto your sales pages, but it helps build instant credibility from anyone who sees your ad and is considering making a purchase.

Cheat Code #2: Let the Algorithm Do The Work 💪

Targeting in the old days was like trying to find the perfect shade of lipstick at Sephora.

As an ads manager, I used to spend hours trying to figure out the exact combination of pages & interests to target and then spend more time testing dozens, if not hundreds, of different options in order to find a winning audience.

This is NOT necessary at all anymore. Welcome to the era of smart and simplified targeting. 👏

Nowadays, Facebook's algorithm is like a magical matchmaker and with a little guidance, it can easily figure out who the right person is to show your ad to.

I still test different audiences but usually only 2-3 max to start.
The key to really making this work is to be very specific in your ad copy, creative, and your landing page about who you're trying to reach as Facebook will scan these assets and use the info to help them figure out who they should put your ads in front of.

Cheat Code #3 - Use Chat GPT As Your Personal Ad Assistant 🤖

At this point I think we all know the power of using AI tools in our business but figuring out how to use them to create ads from scratch and do it in a much quicker, faster way has been a game changing skill–even for me.

Here are some of the way I use Chat GPT to create high-converting ads:

  • Summarize market research so I can gain a better understanding for a new client's audience or industry

  • Brainstorm new targeting ideas

  • Write ad copy, hooks, and headlines

(I'll be honest, the outcome and quality of the copy was pretty terrible when I first started doing this but I’ve figured out how to train my ChatGPT to create some pretty compelling stuff lately that most people would think came from a professional copywriter)

- Craft ideas for video concepts and then write the script

- Improve the copy and conversion rates on my landing pages

- Review my ads for compliance (this is SO useful for sensitive industries such as health/weight loss or financials where ads can get rejected more often)

-I even recently discovered that you can use it to analyze the data of your ads to where it'll make specific recommendations around how to optimize and improve them

^^^These are all separate skills that have taken me many years in business to master and now they're readily available to each and every one of us. Pretty cool, right?

So there you have it, my friend.

Three of my top cheat codes that you can use to save time, create better ads, and improve your results without having to be a wizard at marketing.

As always, if you're loving these tips, don't hesitate to send me DM on Instagram and let me know. Your input is what inspires me to keep writing and sharing these blog posts.
